As the courses offered by Atvance Academy are SETA – accredited, they take 12 months to complete. During these 12 months, the student will receive both theoretical training and simulated practical experience.

  • No, the student will not be receiving any remuneration / stipend for the duration of the training programme.
  • Your Sponsor funds the training programme through Atvance Academy. Academy provides the students with SETA-accredited training for “free”, i.e. the student will not incur any financial cost.
  • To ensure that Atvance Academy maintains the quantity of the training provided to the students, the sponsored funds are used to pay towards their education (course material, moderation, facilitation, facilitator, logistics, administrative support staff), thus assisting the student in acquiring the qualification.

As our courses are SETA-accredited the student will receive both theoretical training and practical experience within the duration of the course. Therefore, upon completing the course, the student will have gained sufficient practical experience.

Yes, if the student has completed and submitted all POE’s and Assignments after the 12-months period of studying with us, they will be eligible to graduate.

  • For students who require the R350 relief fund, the student can resign for their studies at Atvance Academy and terminated on the sponsor payroll, Atvance Academy will then issue the student with an UI19 certificate & letter. The student cannot study with Atvance Academy for the remainder of their academic year.
  • The second choice is what we propose to students: Students receive Free Education but there is a sponsor that finances the fees / training for the students and therefore the student cannot claim UIF during the training period.

  • A qualification in the course which you are going to facilitate.
  • ETDP (Facilitator) certificate to allow you to be the facilitator.
  • Preferably a South African ID or in specific circumstances, a foreign ID with a valid work permit.

Atvance Academy offers Skills Development courses that are accredited with the relevant SETAs. We offer these 1-year courses under the Employment Tax Incentive initiative and therefore cannot offer Learnerships.

Each campus must have a minimum of 300 students and after we have reached that target, then we will open a campus.  Therefore, if you would like the campus in your area sooner, then spread the word and encourage your friends to enrol.

We only take South African citizens between the age of 18 to 27 according to Employment Tax Initiative (ETI) programme. In 2020 the birth year range is 1993 to 2008.


A student will study one course at a time and once completed, may enrol for a second course.

Atvance Academy along with the regional coordinators select the courses to be presented in a certain area based upon numerous factors including but not limited to the availability of certain resources in an area, facilitators skills/qualification, demand for the specific qualifications in a particular area as well as interested showed during the recruitment process.  Atvance Academy hopes to accommodate all students in the area.  Therefore, if there is sufficient demand (student and industry-demand) then Atvance Academy will either open an additional campus in the area to offer another course or run one of our qualifications in the next 12-month period.

You are contractually obligated to notify Atvance Academy that you have taken up employment and will no longer be continuing with the course for which you enrolled.

  • The primary difference between the Senior and Junior HSE Officer is the amount of on-the-job experience and training.
  • Should it be for a construction site, the HSE officer needs to be registered with the SACPCMP, (based upon their criteria) and the junior person may be in training “shadowing” and registered as a candidate H&S officer while undertaking activities under the senior person’s direct mentorship / guidance.
  • The ultimate responsibility will still be with the senior OHS Officer.
  • Both persons fulfil an advisory role.

  • All facilitators will be part of a COVID 19 Health and Safety induction.
  • Facilitators will be supplied with a sanitizer for students to use when they come to campus as well as general sanitizing of the class/campus.
  • Facilitators will have to fumigate the classroom before the first use and maintain a clean and sterile environment going forward.
  • All students entering the premises will be required to wear a face mask.
  • Daily screening of students will be done, and record of all screenings will be kept on file.
  • Social distancing of at least 1.5m will be implemented.
  • Student numbers will be limited to comply with regulations.
  • Where a school is used as a venue, all possible steps will be taken to keep the students away from the children.
  • Students will be divided into WhatsApp groups. Each group will be having a timeframe in which they will be allowed to visit the campus for collections or attendance.


We know you have been eager to hear about graduations however we regret to inform you that due to the COVID-19 Governmental Directive on the restriction of gathering to a maximum of 50 people, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Atvance Academy graduations. All certificates for the 2019-2020 academic year will be dispatched to the facilitator at your campus. All students will be notified of the date to collect their certificates directly from the campus.

This is very unfortunate, but we do always need to ensure the safety of all our students and Atvance Academy staff.

All certificates will be printed out and delivered to the Facilitators on campus. Please contact your facilitator for any further enquiries.

Yes, the student will still be eligible for graduation.  The student should contact the facilitator for more information on when the graduations will take place.

The student will receive an attendance certificate if they did not complete all their assignments.

  • Atvance Academy will be issuing our students with a Cell C sim card.  As a result, the student is working off the app with a supplied Cell C sim card.
  • The app is zero rated for Cell C – so that the students can access our app without cost

Yes, if the device you login with has internet access, and you use YOUR login details.

Your ID number is important because this is your username that you use to log in to the Atvance Academy The ID number will also ensure that you receive your tasks.

No – the app sends messages to the phone number you use when registering. If you use someone else’s number, the information will be delivered to the incorrect person.

  • Log in to the app

Your friend can complete a “Refer a Friend” task and refer you. They will then receive a message giving them access to the Atvance Academy App.

Reset your password by going to the Atvance login screen and click on “forgot your password?”.

  • This is because your ID number is not registered on the system even though you completed your registration form. Please see your facilitator and he/she will refer you as a friend on her profile. You will then receive an SMS and you will be able to log in and complete your tasks.
  • If your tasks are not available, you need to give the app permission to have your location. If your permissions are on, then refresh your location.
